A Name That Says It All
When your wedding day deserves a setting as unforgettable as your love, there’s nowhere quite like The Remarkables. Rising sharply above Queenstown, this dramatic mountain range is true to its name, remarkable in every season, every light, every angle. A helicopter flight takes you from the lake to the ridgelines in minutes, and suddenly you’re standing where the sky feels close enough to touch.
Here, the views stretch forever. The lake glitters far below, the ranges ripple out into the distance, and the air is thin, crisp, and alive. Saying your vows here is like etching them into the backbone of the South Island itself.
What It Feels Like to Be There
The Remarkables are raw, vast, and elemental. Standing on the ridge, the ground drops away steeply, giving you that breathtaking sense of standing at the edge of the world.
- In summer, the tussock glows gold and the alpine breeze is sharp and clear.
- In autumn, the sunsets are fiery, the air cooler, the light long and golden.
- In winter, snow blankets the peaks, turning your ceremony into a scene of pure alpine magic.
- In spring, the mountains carry a fresh energy, with alpine plants and crystal-clear skies.
Every photograph looks cinematic, every laugh feels carried by the wind, and every promise feels amplified by the silence around you.
Seasonal Note: We don’t offer helicopter weddings or elopements in June, as alpine weather during this month is too unpredictable for safe flights and reliable mountain access. If you’re dreaming of snow, July onwards delivers stunning winter conditions. Spring, summer, and autumn all offer beautiful alternatives for your Queenstown mountaintop celebration.
Where Are The Remarkables?
The Remarkables mountain range rises directly above Queenstown, just a short helicopter flight from the township and airport. Within minutes you leave behind the buzz of the lakeside and find yourself surrounded by rugged peaks, alpine tarns, and ridgelines that seem to go on forever.
The Feeling
The Remarkables aren’t just beautiful, they carry a sense of scale that puts everything into perspective. For centuries, they’ve stood as a landmark guiding travellers across the land. To marry here is to step into that lineage of strength and permanence, where nature itself feels like a witness to your vows.
What Your Day Looks Like
- You step out of the helicopter onto a high ridge, with views sweeping in every direction.
- The lake shimmers far below, and the mountains wrap around you in every shade of grey, gold, or white.
- Your photographer captures the scale, the two of you radiant against the vast alpine backdrop.
- As you exchange rings, the silence is broken only by your words, carried across the valley.
