I first began planning weddings at Aoraki / Mt Cook almost thirty years ago, and after focusing on other regions for some time, it feels wonderful to be returning to this remarkable place once again.

Every time I stand before Aoraki, I feel it, the same quiet awe I’ve felt since my first wedding here decades ago.
This mountain is part of my whakapapa, my Māori bloodline, and it has always held deep meaning for me.

Heli & Ground Options

All options are planned with weather flexibility and safety in mind, in full accordance with DOC permit conditions.

DOC Concession Assurance
All NZDW heli landings and scenic wedding locations are fully approved and permitted by New Zealand’s Department of Conservation (DOC) – the government branch responsible for protecting Aotearoa’s national parks and conservation lands.
NZDW also secures written permission for all private-land ceremonies, ensuring every location is both legal and environmentally responsible.
As part of DOC’s permit requirements, New Zealand Dream Weddings holds full Public Liability Insurance, covering land-use and environmental protection for all approved wedding sites.
This ensures every ceremony is planned in full compliance with DOC’s safety and environmental standards.
All NZDW scenic and heli-elopements are fully permitted, safety-certified and insured – ensuring your wedding in this location is planned legally and safely.

Our Wedding Style
I coordinate intimate elopements only – usually just the couple, or occasionally up to four guests.
Most ceremonies are two-person celebrations: quiet, heartfelt, and unobtrusive.
My style fits naturally with Mt Cook’s peaceful alpine energy – elegant, simple, and focused entirely on your connection.
