About Donna Dohi,
Its pretty hard writing about yourself but here goes!
I love helping couples with their wedding. There is honestly nothing better than meeting couples from all over the world and get to be part of their day. To witness couples saying their vows to each other and seeing how much in love they are with each other.
Another love of mine is photography and capturing those special moments that you don’t even know about. That special look, that special touch. These are what I call my knick-knack photos.
How long have I been a photographer? YEARS! I don’t want to say how many as then you would be working out that I am not as young as you… But honestly I have been photographing weddings, children, babies and family’s for close on 8 years continuously.
I started back with my camera after having years away from photography, when my International Wedding Coordination company not long started. I found that I wanted my couples to be treated more kindly and with a smile and sense of humour, from there came the local photography bookings. To cut a long story short, here I am years later still taking photos and still loving it like I did when i first started out.
My approach to wedding photography is to combine traditional skill and modern technology to create for you a storybook of treasured moments of your special day.
I pride myself in building a personal relationship with each couple. This allows me to unobtrusively capture spontaneous defining moments with a unique combination of skills and sensitivity. Telling the story as you lived and dreamed it to be.
My style is Photo/journalist this is wedding photography capturing moments that are spontaneous, unposed and sensitive to the emotion of that moment. This style is candid, documentary, having an artistic flair in the absence of formal pose. The photographer usually shoots two or three times the amount of images that the traditional photographer shoots. The goal is to capture the day with minimum interference. The photographer remains unnoticed, but is there at the right time! The concentration in photojournalistic photography is in creativity, artistry and spontaneity not on albums and poses.
Have you noticed at some of the weddings you have been to in the past, where the photographers are a little short temperature with children? Well I am the opposite of a mum of 5 (oops now you are saying how old is this lady) so I understand that children can not stay still, that they get bored standing around looking like an angel. Remember children know when someone is covering up moods and temperaments.
Wedding Photography is more than pictures and poses its perspective and emotion too!
