Tyndall Glacier offers an unforgettable helicopter wedding experience unlike anywhere else — where every direction reveals breathtaking alpine scenery and every moment feels truly extraordinary.
Your journey begins with a scenic helicopter flight from Wānaka, climbing high above lakes, valleys and mountain ranges before landing on the glacier itself. As you step out onto the ice, the silence, the vastness and the beauty of the landscape create a wedding experience that is both intimate and unforgettable.
From arranging your helicopter flights, glacier access, celebrant, photographer, flowers, hair and makeup to guiding you through your New Zealand marriage paperwork, I personally take care of every detail. All you need to do is embrace the moment and enjoy one of the most unique wedding experiences New Zealand has to offer.
What your day looks like
Your day begins at your accommodation, where you can enjoy a relaxed morning getting ready for your wedding.
Your hairstylist and makeup artist will come to you, allowing you to simply relax and enjoy the excitement of the day. Before you get dressed, your photographer will arrive to capture the details of your wedding, including your dress, flowers, jewellery and those quiet moments before your ceremony.
Once you are ready, you will travel to the helicopter base, where your pilot will welcome you before taking you on a spectacular scenic flight into the Southern Alps and onto Tyndall Glacier.
After landing on the glacier, you will have time to take in the incredible alpine surroundings before exchanging your vows surrounded by snow, ice and mountain scenery. Following your ceremony, you will enjoy a relaxed photography session together while exploring this extraordinary location.
After your time on the glacier, you will return by helicopter before continuing your celebrations however you choose.
From beginning to end, your wedding day is carefully planned so you can relax, enjoy the experience and focus on celebrating your marriage together.

Frequently asked questions
Do we stand on actual glacier ice?
Yes — this is a genuine glacier landing on ice and snow, arranged under a DOC glacier permit and flown only when conditions are safe. Warm layers and grippy footwear are a must.
Is everything above board?
Completely. The landing is covered by my DOC concession (current through 2035) and full public liability insurance, and pricing is GST-inclusive with no hidden fees.
Is a helicopter wedding safe?
Yes. I work only with CAA-certified operators and hugely experienced alpine pilots, and every flight carries full insurance. The pilot always has the final say on the day — if conditions aren’t right to fly safely, we simply move to a beautiful alternative rather than take any risk. Your safety comes first, always.
