Lake Tekapo is an extraordinary wedding location. Winter time will give you snow capped peaks that surround the lake and in summer the golden glow of colour mixed with the bright colours of the lupins. Situated in the heart of the Mackenzin Basin in the South Island, the lake covers an area of 83 square kilometers and is 700m above sea level. We would recommend that you travel down to Lake Tekapo the day before your wedding.  The driving distance from Christchurch is approximately 3hrs. This location is weather dependent, if weather does not permit for outdoor wedding we will transfer to shelter for your ceremony.

The basic wedding package includes everything you need for your dream Lake Tekapo Wedding including paperwork for back home (the below basic package can be adjusted to suit your requirements – These prices are for the couple without guests).

What's Included

This wedding package has been designed as an elopement package for a couple with no guests.

  • Professional Wedding Planner
  • Coordinator on hand to help you on your wedding day
  • Full wedding day schedule with time frames
  • Celebrant
  • Wedding ceremony by the Lake
  • Total Time Frame: 3 hours.
  • All your legal wedding paperwork that is recognised in your country as a legal wedding – (Marriage Certificate and Apostille/Authentication + postage)
  • Assistance with lodging your Marriage Licence directly online with the New Zealand Internal Affairs Office. You will be required to pay a one-off fee of NZ$150 directly online. The license will be emailed to you in approximately three working days
  • Complimentary glass of NZ bubbly to celebrate your wedding
  • Photography Package – up to 3 hours of coverage. Includes the first look and some photos before departing accommodation,  wedding ceremony, wedding location and photo shoot at a different location. Includes Photographer travel fee
  • Photos will be in a private gallery for you to download, print, and share with family and friends
  • Private Transport from your Lake Tekapo accommodation to the ceremony location
  • Private Transport to another  location for a photoshoot after your wedding ceremony location
  • Private Transport from the photo shoot to your Lake Tekapo accommodation

Additional Options

  • Bouquet and boutonniere start from NZ$380 (pricing depends on style and size)
  • Hair and makeup styling starts at NZ$450; this includes the personal service of the stylists coming to your Lake Tekapo accommodation.
  • Videographer packages – pricing on request
  • Translation of your marriage certificate if need NZ$110
  • Helicopter flight for extended photo tour, locations and pricing on request.
