1. Who We Are
New Zealand Dream Weddings 2015 Ltd (“NZDW”) is a fully registered New Zealand company owned and operated by me, Donna-Louise Dohi. When you book your elopement with me, you’re trusting me to plan, coordinate, and personally guide your wedding journey from start to finish.
2. Deposits & Payments
To secure your wedding date, a non-refundable deposit of 20% of your package total is required (unless your quote says otherwise).
Your final balance is due 14 days before your wedding date and must be cleared in full by then.
Payments are made by international bank transfer or local bank deposit. Any bank fees incurred are your responsibility, please check with your bank to ensure the full amount arrives in my account.
3. Postponement & Date Changes
I understand that sometimes plans change. If you need to postpone, please tell me as soon as possible. I’ll do my very best to reschedule your wedding to your preferred new date.
Please note that changes may be subject to availability with our trusted suppliers (like helicopters, celebrants, photographers, etc.), and in some cases re-booking fees may apply.
4. Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your wedding 0–14 days before your date, no refund can be given, this is to cover costs already incurred and lost opportunities to book other couples.
All cancellations must be made in writing.
5. Weather & Alternative Plans
Helicopter weddings and outdoor locations can be affected by New Zealand’s unpredictable weather. If flying or your original location isn’t safe, we’ll put an alternative plan in place, this may include using a backup site, moving the ceremony to your accommodation, or adjusting your flight time.
If you choose not to go ahead with an alternative, a partial refund may be offered, the amount depends on costs already incurred and services provided, minus any bank transfer fees.
6. Responsibility & Care
I work only with experienced, trusted suppliers who care as much as I do, your celebrant, pilot, photographer, videographer, florist, stylists, and drivers are all professionals who have worked with me many times.
Each supplier is responsible for their own service delivery, but I will always coordinate everything with you and for you.
I strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, postponement, and accidents, especially for adventure weddings involving helicopters and alpine environments.
7. Insurance, Permits & Safety Certification
NZDW carries $2,000,000 public liability insurance.
I also hold a current Safety Audit Certificate approved by the New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC), and all helicopter companies and other trusted suppliers have their own safety certifications and liability cover.
NZDW holds all required DOC concessions and permits for our wedding locations, so you can trust that your special day takes place legally and responsibly in these beautiful places.
8. Privacy & Images
I deeply respect your privacy. Unless you tell me otherwise, I may share selected images from your day on my website, social media, or promotional materials, always with care and respect for your story. I never use full names and I don’t tag you unless you ask me to.
If you’d prefer that I don’t use any images, please just let me know in writing, I will always honour your wishes.
9. Safety
Your safety is always my top priority. I only work with experienced crews and follow strict safety procedures for alpine and helicopter weddings. Please read and sign the NZDW Client Safety Statement provided in your full contract, it’s important to me that you feel comfortable and prepared for your day.
10. Final Note
This summary is here to help you understand how I work and what you can expect. Full details are always outlined in your individual wedding contract, which you’ll receive and sign before your booking is confirmed.
